About the BDTC
The Bethel Democratic Town Committee is the legally elected voice
of all Bethel voters who are registered in the Democratic Party.
The Committee is governed by its bylaws, which in turn are subject
to CT State Statutes and the rules of the CT Democratic State
Central Committee. The activities of the Committee (including
this website) are done in conformance with CT State Statutes as
administered by the CT Elections Enforcement Commission. The Committee
files periodic financial reports as prescribed by the EEC. The
Committee's membership list, bylaws and financial reports are
on file with the Bethel Town Clerk.

Viewpoint
The viewpoint of the BDTC comes from the dual perspective of
being responsible Bethel residents and public service as an elected
or appointed official. The BDTC believes strongly in the rights
of each Bethel resident as is stated on this page.
Experience
The makeup of the BDTC includes Bethel natives, long term residents
and newcomers. It includes first, second, and in some cases, third
generation Bethelites. Of the 33 current members, 30 have held
one or more elected or appointed offices in Bethel, including
the offices of First Selectman, Selectman, Treasurer, Probate
Judge, and Town Counsel, as well as seats on every board and commission
in the Town.
Meetings
The Bethel Democratic Town Committee meets on the 3rd Wednesday
of each month. The meetings are held in The Clifford Hurgin Municipal
Center in a room as posted. During election campaign periods,
the Committee may hold its meetings in an election headquarters.
Scholarships
Each year, the Committee awards one or more scholarships to graduating
seniors in memory of the late Ella Grosso, the first woman elected
as Governor of Connecticut.
Outreach
The Committee produces two TV shows, Bethel Today and Bethel
Watch, this Web Site, and an email newsletter.
